When we are in Italy, everything seems incredibly beautiful and wonderful! This is due to the fact that the Italians themselves place great importance on the beautiful life, good food, unforgettable emotions, and the little things. Just like them, I also love to make sure that every one of my trips is well-organized—without going overboard on excess, but still ensuring that everything is quality and stylish!
I recently returned from my latest trip to Lake Como and decided to have lunch again at one of my favorite restaurants there – Funicolare Ristorante Pizzeria. Three years ago, I visited it with friends, and we discovered it by chance, but this time, I purposely chose it to see if I would still be as enchanted by it! Unfortunately – it exceeded my expectations, and that’s why I want to share with you this charming and unique little restaurant, offering an unforgettable view of the majestic Lake Como!
You’ll find it very easily – it’s located about 300 meters from the train station, and for your convenience, here’s the address of the place: Via Lungo Lario Trieste, 62, Como 22100. Just a few meters away is the funicular (the same name as the place), which you can take to get up to Brunate.
The restaurant has been offering professionalism and experience to its customers for over 30 years! In addition to the incredible view, the elegant interior makes your stay here even more enjoyable, allowing you to truly savor the dining experience. There are outdoor tables at street level, as well as an indoor seating area. However, you will undoubtedly be most impressed by the terrace – the view and atmosphere are beyond words!
The terrace is accessed by external stairs, adorned with flower pots. In addition to the view of the lake, guests of the restaurant are greeted with an incredible panorama, revealing lush greenery and beautiful houses. The railings are made of wrought iron, and ivy climbs along the walls, while white umbrellas are stretched across the balcony. An atmosphere like this will make you relax and enjoy not only the moment but also every sip and bite, delighting your senses.
The menu is diverse, and everyone will find something to their taste. For pizza lovers, the choice will be difficult – here, they offer over 40 types of pizzas, with their biggest specialty being “Pizza a Roll”. The selection of wines and cocktails is extensive. The prices are reasonable and affordable, with a very good price-quality-location ratio.
